As my Business has continued to grow over the last few years, It has allowed me to help support some of our local talent in the sporting community.
ARG Telecommunications is now an official sponsor of Bolton based Irish Pro Boxer Liam Gaynor, the current youth British and European BJJ Champion Connor Urmson and local amatuer football club Stoneclough Fc.
. I have known Liam & his family for a good few years now even before he left his home in Dublin, Ireland to pursue his Pro boxing career here in Bolton. As a big boxing fan myself, I felt it was a great opportunity when Liam started a new chapter in his career to offer a little support through my Business where I could and become a proud Sponsor for the first time. #TeamGaynor.
. I met Connor down at the local Brazilian jui jitsu club where my son used to attend. Just from watching him a couple of times training in the gym, I always thought he could really go places with his fighting talent. He certainly has the drive and passion to succeed at the very top level in this sport and again Im proud to say ARG Telecommunications will be an official sponsor, supporting him on his journey wherever possible. #TeamConnor.
. Ever since the age of 8 I've always played amateur football for local clubs around Bolton. One of my clubs were Stoneclough Fc, where I had some great memories of playing and met some great people from Staff & Players to supporters and the local community. Again when the opportunity arised, ARG Telecommunications became a proud sponsor of the club. #UpTheClough.
" I started boxing at the age of 11. I have 50+ amateur fights winning many area titles on the way and losing in the national semis. I moved over to the pro game 2 years ago and having 2 professional fights in my first year with unanimous wins. I’ve had some bad luck in the last year with 3 fights cancelled on me.
I was then given the option to make the move over to my sister and brother in law in Bolton and join Team Elite. This was a big move considering I was out of the ring for almost 2 years. Now I have a professional record of 5-1 enjoying the boxing lifestyle." You can follow Liams progress on the links below -
Connor Urmson is a 14yr old martial arts practitioner. Starting his career at the tender age of 5. He was competing in kick boxing competitions by the age of 6 and it was clear he had found his passion in combat sports. At 10 Connor needed a new challenge and we found a Brazilian jui jitsu club close by. Things accelerated from there and over the next couple of years we have seen connor win multiple competitions and currently holds both British and European titles. Great things are store for this young fighter, with world titles in his sights. Watch this space. You can follow Connor's progress here -
Stoneclough Fc play in the West Lancs Amatuer Leagues, currently in Division 1. For the last couple of seasons they have been so close to clinching that spot in the West Lancs Premier League, but have just fell short at the latter stages of the season. However, with the current squad looking as strong as ever, I cant see it being long before they get that prmotion to the top. The home of Stoneclough is down at Fox Park, which has recently seen a complete revamp, with a new stand and mini club house put together with the help of the players, staff & local community. A great club all round and I wish them all the luck going forward in the future. You can follow their progress on the link here -
